The Information & Communications Department plays a pivotal role in supporting the regulatory administrative and public health objectives of the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone. The department works actively in collaboration with all other departments to ensure that safety regulatory and pharmaceutical information is communicated clearly promptly and effectively to health practitioners and the general public through electronic media print media outreach sensitization and other communication channels.

Units of the Department:

This department consists of two units:

1. Communication and Outreach Unit
2. Information and Technology Unit

Functions of the Department:

The Information and Communications Department is responsible for ensuring that safety and regulatory information related to pharmaceuticals is effectively communicated to healthcare professionals and the general public. The department uses electronic media print media sensitization activities and community outreach to promote awareness and enhance regulatory compliance across Sierra Leone.

The department performs the following core functions:

  • Communicate safety information to health practitioners and the general public through electronic and print media and related information channels.
  • Serve as a Public Relations interface between the Pharmacy Board and the general public.
  • Produce a Quarterly Newsletter to disseminate information on the activities and achievements of the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone.
  • Address all Information and Communication Technology (ICT) matters to support staff needs and departmental operations.
  • Organize coordinate and implement outreach and sensitization activities for the Board.
